Epic wedding day paper goods of a visual designer
When a multidisciplinary visual artist from Chicago reaches out about her wedding, it's natural to feel a bit intimidated. Although Sarah never made me feel this way directly, her creativity and artistic style were so captivating that it was hard not to get a little distracted from our wedding plans!
One of the most rewarding aspects of wedding planning is meeting couples from various fields with different passions. When those passions align within the creative realm, it’s especially exciting to see my clients' unique visions come to life. That was definitely the case with Sarah and Matt’s wedding.
As a designer, Sarah was determined to infuse the celebration with creative elements from her and Matt’s life. With Matt pursuing a doctorate in literature, it was only fitting that we drew inspiration from classic literature.
The result was a blend of The Secret Garden and Wuthering Heights with a modern typographic twist—all set against the stunning backdrop of one of my favorite Milwaukee wedding venues, the Ivy House.
Sarah’s wedding paper goods were incredibly thoughtful, and we played within a green and white color palette that perfectly complemented the day. We gave the traditional chuppah a Grecian twist with asymmetrical draping and organic, wispy flowers, creating an inspiring altar for their Jewish ceremony.
Sarah herself looked like a Grecian garden statue in her draped wedding dress, featuring off-shoulder sleeves and a high slit.
She truly is a work of art, both outwardly and in her creative spirit, which was evident in every detail she designed. I hope you enjoy seeing this wedding come together as much as I did! All photos by Alisha Tova.
